New Laws become effective today in Ohio

It is finally here the day thousands of Truck Drivers have been waiting for, 65 MPH in Ohio. I just wonder how many tickets will be written today? I bet there will be a few handed out. There are a couple more laws you may or may not be aware of today.

When you see a tow truck on the shoulder of the road, with a broke down vehicle you MUST either slow down or switch lanes when one can do so safely. The law goes right along with the one for police, emts, and fire trucks. It carries a pretty stiff fine also. $300.00 for the first offense plus court fees, and $500.00 for the second offense within a year.

The state has put forth an effort to reduce speed traps, by adding transition zones when the speed limits drop by 20 mph. But, I still wouldn’t trust the cops of Ohio with this one, just slow down.

Also, all vehicles are required to operate head lights when using the windshield wipers in the rain. The word is that the headlight violation will ONLY be warnings until next year.
