Well, seems it is that time again. Operation Safe Driver, kicked off today and runs through too October 24. This year the OSD will again be focusing on enforcement and education. CLEVELAND — Ohio is conducting a statewide safety sweep on highways, looking for potentially fatal safety violations in big rigs.
When a fully loaded tractor-trailer hits 65 mph, it’ll take 525 feet to stop, unless it has no brakes. That’s one of the violations discovered during Road Check 2009.

Statewide crackdown focuses on truck safety

GREENWICH — The state will run an around-the-clock safety inspection blitz over the next three days at the weigh station south of Exit 2 on Interstate 95 as part of a national truck safety crackdown.
The target is overweight commercial trucks with faulty brakes and lights and other unsafe equipment.

June 2-4, 2009 is the date that has been announced for Roadcheck 2009. For those who don’t know about this event, this is a annual event across most if not all of the USA.
