A New Jersey-based trucking firm plans to lay off all 52 drivers at its western Pennsylvania facility by November.
The layoffs are planned at the Louis J. Kennedy Trucking Co. in Aliquippa, about 20 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. The company is based in Kearny, N.J.

Local Truck Drivers for Trucking Company given layoff

Some workers for a local trucking company, got their dispatch from the Michigan Trucking Terminal as they normally do, but it was different Friday. They were told to meet at the Maysville, KY. Terminal Monday 07/06/2009 at 1:00 p.m. for a meeting.

Mid-States Express closes doors

Mid-States Express, based in Fond du Lac, has closed its doors.
The trucking company employs 525 company-wide, said David Yarbarough, an employee at Mid-States corporate offices in Aurora, Ill. About 18 people are employed in the Fond du Lac office, said a woman who answered the phone here.
