The star of the television show “Ice Road Trucker” will be the honored guest Saturday, Sept. 26, for a 50-mile truck convoy on Highway 41 from Richfield to Oshkosh to benefit Special Olympics Wisconsin.
TV star Alex Debogorski from the History Channel’s “Ice Road Truckers” will be the honored guest for the fifth anniversary of the convoy.
The convoy, presented by Quad/Graphics, begins at the Pioneer Travel Plaza in Richfield with registration from 6:30 to 8:45 a.m.
Truckers will be escorted by Wisconsin law enforcement officers north on Highway 41 to Oshkosh’s EAA grounds, according to an event press release.
An EAA celebration will follow at approximately 11 a.m., with Laura Hawk, wife of Green Bay Packers linebacker AJ Hawk, greeting truckers and offering autographs. Participants can enjoy music, food and a live auction.
The public is encouraged to view the Oshkosh event from the Pioneer Travel Plaza’s grass hill (park in plaza parking lot) or from rest stops or park and ride lots anywhere along the Highway 41 route.
Last year, Wisconsin’s convoy raised more than $100,000.
