IdleAire closed for business January 29, 2010, but seems it may be being reborn.
An announcement on the website says that thanks to valued customers, fleets and professional drivers a new group is working to restart the service.
This is good news, with all the idle restrictions around.
Hopefully they will come back stronger than ever. IdleAire operated 131 locations in 34 states, providing the means to heat and cool truck cabs without idling the engines.
IdleAire claims to have contributed to saving over 50 Million gallons of diesel fuel and prevented over 1.1 billion pounds of diesel idling emissions from entering the air. I’m sure what they claim is probably true. The website says to stay tuned to www.IdleAire.com for updates. We will also keep you updated when we hear some news.
