My Afflictions and Tribulations

I know it has been a while since I have posted anything so I figured I had better explain myself as to why I have not been around much.
I hope to be back to regularly posting sometime soon, but right now I just don’t feel like it.
As many of you know I have been dealing with some sickness and injuries that have been giving me fits for sometime now.
I am back to using my cane full time to try and get around as my balance problems have returned and plus my back and hip is getting worse I think.
I have been dealing with a very nasty infection that caused some severe boils on my leg – but these have cleared up, now. But I have a bad infection in my (good) ear that I am trying to get rid of. I say good ear because I am deaf in one ear and the ear that I can hear some in is going bad also.
I am not looking for any pity from anyone – so please don’t comment on it. I just felt the need to explain my absence to you.
Also I think the realization has finally came to me that I will never drive a commercial vehicle again – as a few weeks ago I did turn in my CDL license to the state of Kentucky. I have been really stressed these last few weeks with all the sickness and hurting and seeing doctors that I just have not felt like writing. Plus my wife has had some medical problems in which she must have surgery to fix.
We decided to try and quit smoking as she has to quit so the doctor will do the surgery but I decided to try and quit as well. She had some pills (chantex) to help her along, but I am trying it cold turkey. After five days the stress was unbearable and we bought a pack of cigarettes. Don’t roll your eyes at me just yet – after 25 years of almost two packs per day I have been smoking four cigarettes per day now and eventually will just put them down completely.
As I said earlier I don’t want any pity from anyone – but would appreciate thoughts and prayers from you. I hope to get back into the swing of things in short time. But until then please be safe out on the roads and thank you for what you are doing.
