At approximately 10:15 a.m., a four vehicle collision occurred on eastbound Interstate 44 near the exit to State Highway 100.

A bobtail tractor was rear-ended by a pickup truck which was then struck in the rear by a school bus. That school bus was then struck by another school bus.

The Missouri Highway Patrol is currently reporting two fatalities. There was reportedly roadway construction and congestion in the area of the collision.

NTSB Board Member Christopher A. Hart is accompanying the team and will serve as the on-scene spokesman.

Senior Highway Investigator Peter Kotowski has been designated as the Investigator-in-Charge. Public Affairs Officer Terry Williams is accompanying the team. The team is expected to arrive on-scene this evening.
