In 1492 Christopher Columbus discovered America. He was did it by leading three ships out of a Spanish port. Columbus, led the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria, and headed west.
The trip took almost three months to make the estimated two thousand four hundred mile journey. As history tells us, he made a total of four trips to the “new world”.
Well, The Columbus Foundation with their two replica ships the Nina and the Pinta were guest in Maysville, KY. I took a little trip down to see the two ships, and I thought I would share some pictures of them with you. According to the website the schedule is Nov. twenty seven through Dec. four. Then they will head for Florida and be at the Palafox Harbor in Pensacola, Florida from Dec. twenty three to Jan. five.
