Lease purchase – is it a good thing

Unless company’s have changed their way’s in the last few month’s then I say the “lease purchase” deal that company’s try to throw out to drivers is still a shady deal. Especially, the ones that mention in their ads “no credit checks” or “no money down”.

KLLM TRANSPORT TO PAY $56,500 FOR DISABILITY BIAS

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) today announced the settlement of a disability discrimination lawsuit against KLLM Transport Services, Inc. (KLLM) for $56,500 and remedial relief on behalf of a qualified truck driver who was rejected for a job due to his prosthetic leg.

Western Pa. trucking operation laying off 52

A New Jersey-based trucking firm plans to lay off all 52 drivers at its western Pennsylvania facility by November.

The layoffs are planned at the Louis J. Kennedy Trucking Co. in Aliquippa, about 20 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. The company is based in Kearny, N.J.

Truckers protest wage cuts from new contract

About 60 independent truck drivers and escorts who contract with Bennett Truck Transport are refusing to drive after the company renegotiated a contract with Schult Homes last week that decreased drivers’ pay in several categories.
