NHTSA reports Traffic Fatalities down in 2009

Today the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released their report on traffic fatalities for 2009.
The report indicates that fatalities are still on a downward trend.
This is good news obviously, but still it is too many according to U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.

Governor’s highway safety committee hopes to move Kentucky ‘Toward Zero Deaths’

To further reduce highway fatalities and serious injuries, Gov. Steve Beshear today directed his executive highway safety committee to engage in a collaborative effort aimed at moving Kentucky “Toward Zero Deaths.”
